Wow it was Sehwags day…284no, and on target to be the first to score 3 300’s. India are 1/443 (5.60!!), after SL 393. Mathews joining the 99 club. How can you!!!!
NZ won the toss and put Pak. in. 6/161. They started so well after 32ov 0/60, but then they thru away cheap wickets. NZ bowled patient and tight, and when the break thru came were very impressive. Tuffey bowled very well, at both ends. O’Brien, once he settled, looked good again. Vettori gave the ball more air, and looks better when he does. Martin seems to be lacking pace, and fire.
Well done Capt., you had 4 slips and 2 gullies, for O’Brien. But to late for Mr Bond!!!! Thanks for listening!!!!
Its good to see How back in the runs, with a good attacking 90. He’s to good a player not to be tried again??
Offcourse player of day, Sehwag (and again tomorrow??).

Basin Reserve Test Day 2
I know it’s actually Saturday night but I haven’t really had time to write before.
So Day 2 started with New Zealand on top and finished with our victory chances in virtual ruin!
Why did this happen? Because our top order once again proved inept against high quaity swing and seam bowling. Yes, McCullum and Vettori failed as well but they can’t be expected to save us everytime. Taylor looked very good but he seems to get out alot misjudging when to leave. The others were simply pathetic. McIntosh, Flynn and Fulton in particular look as though they think they shouldn’t really be there.
Earlier we let Pakistan get a few too many from their lower order. Firstly, there was the review. If that wasn’t in place Kamran wouldn’t have scored another 35 runs but if the right decision is made that is more important then temporary partisan concerns. Also we were too defensive against him. The theory was to attack the tailender but more often then not that leads to easy runs been given away.
The last session was fun where I was sitting on the bank as a mixture of drinken yobbos and school kids where playing catches with a bat and tennis ball around me. Around this time O’brien got all fired up and got two late wickets.
So I had a great time with nicer weather and full days play. Still 99 is simply not good enough.
Star of the day: The Pakistan bowling attack.
I’m late, I didnt get a chance today to write. But yes I agree with what you say. Well its over and we must do something.
