No Bond..well at least its made the build up exciting.It looks like Tuffey will play, I’m dissappionted again that we dont play 5 bowlers.
SL won the toss and batted, scoring 8/366. Dilshan 109, Mathews 86no. H.Singh 4/107. They scored at 4.11.
Here we go again 3 tests under way soon,plus the Plunket Shield. Oh is this heaven??!!!!

Basin Reserve Test Day 1
Just some comments on the Test!
First impressions were; I’m on unpaid leave, it’s freezing cold in December and there’s no bloody cricket. Something about the poor bowlers been scared about falling over. Oh well, they are so injury prone these days.
I wondered if we shouldn’t have batted first if we won the toss. After two hours, I was still wondering. By the close, of course Vettori made the right call. It did seem for awhile that neither side wanted to make the first move. Eventually the Pak openers run out of paitence and we took control. Vettori bowled a great arm ball to get Yousuf. O’Brien steamed in.
The reality is we bowled tightly without ever threatening to run thru them. We were again helped by some one day style dismissals. Namely Malik and Misbah with their casual slogs.
My star of the day has to be Daryl Tuffey. He bowled a probing line, used the bouncer rarely but intelligently and bowled a beaut to get Umar. He’s older and wiser and looks more reliable then before. He could be the stock bowler we need. He’s 31 but hasn’t played alot of test cricket so if confidence and body stay together he could have 5 good years left.
So a good day for NZ. Only 58 overs which is a bit crap but hopefully 98 tomorrow. I have club cricket on sat, sun so want to see as many balls as possible.

Yes it was a very interesting days play. At least you got more cricket than we did. Now Mighty Aucks are at home it rains!!!!
I’m so pleased for Tuffey, and just shows the bad decesion by NZ cricket not to keep him and Bond. Yes he has 5 years left,and I cant wait to see him bowl with Bond.
We only had 58 overs,but I found it very interesting.
The forecast is good, so we want to remove them for under 220, and try get a good lead. A great chance for our batsman.
