The injuries have now hit Australia,not just us.Hopes has gone,and Lee and Johnson are doubtful.The question has to be asked,as Ponting is saying,is there just to much non stop cricket??Are not only players going to have “burn out”,but the public will get sick of so much??
An interest article on Ian Bishop.His love of fast bowlers,how important the runup and follow thru is,and hero’s.Ive always been excited by fasy bowling,from Larwood,Tyson,Meckiff,Hall,Barlett,Thompson thru to Lee,Bond and Styn.There is something about 150+ bowling.
Oh it goes on and on.We have no coach now,and wont be advertising for one.Well I’m going to the employment tribunal,because I want to be coach and they have to advertise!!!!You only have to read overseas blogs,papers,sites etc to see we are the laughing stock of the cricket world.Hell even worse than Pakistan!!!!

Australia beat India to go 1 up in the 1 day seris.They won the toss and batted making 8/292 Ponting 74 Hussey 73.India made 8/288 Gambhir 68.Their top order didnt fire,showing how important they are to the team.The toss though,could end up being the key to the seris.
Stephen Cook set a South Africian record 390 for the Lions v Warriors.He is son of Jimmy Cook.He’s 26,has 14 100’s and avge of 39.57.And he hasn’t played for South Africa??
Why do Australia and South African batsman have to score well over 10 100’s to get in,and we pick with a handful??Don’t blame our pitches,its all about application.To many NZ batsman are being picked on promise and not runs.

Well he has gone,resigned–haha,pushed!!!!I think its so sad,and just continues to show the mess NZ cricket is in.I still lay the blame on Vettori for this.He sounds so nice on the radio,but behind the scenes he would stab you in the back I believe.
I think he has let McCullum take the blame for the players discontent with Moyes,and now McCullum has payed the price.Losing the vice/capt.I can’t see how its going to be a “happy” team.
Another classic contest between India and Australia.It just seems the most exciting in cricket now.Perhaps taking over from England v Australia??
Its great to see Palmerston North and Wellington got cricket.It was a lovelly “summer” day here in Auckland.

A great win by NSW.They were just to good.9/159 and Trindad 118.Trindad did very well to get in the final.I hope this is played each year,as I feel its getting back to the basics of the game and giving any player a chance at the big time.Maybe a club format could be next??
Brett Lee has shown how he was missed so badly in the Ashes.Perhaps they should have played him at about 7,as a batsman bowler and he could have bowled in 4 or 5 over spells.I think he doesnt get the credit he deservers,after living in Warne and McGraths shadow.
Well its the 4th week of Auckland Cricket.20/20 has gone,and now the 1dayers.While the rest of NZ has no cricket!!!!

NSW v Trindad and Tobago are in the final.NSW will be the favs,but this is a very good Trindad team.Well lead by Ganga,with his and Bravo’s batting and Ganga and Simmons bowling.
I’m suprised Misbah-ul-Haq has been left out of the 3 Pakistan teams.He was great in 2007,but has struggled since but they have not been playing regular cricket.Now they have a full program for the next4 months,I thought he would get another chance.Shame Mohammed Asif can only play in the tests.He is a very good bowler.
Sinclair wins another trophey,and still he is not wanted!!!!How can such a talented player be pushed aside.Steps should be in place to help him work thru his problems at test level.And he is the BEST captain in NZ cricket at the present time.Ok you can all say he has had plenty of chances,but something should have been done,so as such a talent would not be wasted.

Oh dear here we go again,NZ cricket players believing they are bigger than the game.Give Mr Vettori more power,get a few of his mates together and lets roll Moles.Why is this being allowed to go on and on??Every coach has the same problem.Why are cricketers more big headed than other sports??
The 20/20 Champions League looks to be a real winner.What a shame 4day games cant have the same.But it all comes back to time.NSW are very strong,and its great to see Lee back and bowling fast and straight.
Lets all hope the West Indies problems are over.But I fear not.Its only a matter of time and they will split.It will be sad from a history point of view,but good I think for World cricket.I do hope Gayle is not Capt. too tour Australia.He is not a good capt.Ganga may not be good enough to be in the team,but he is the best capt.I think he should be until they find another capt.

I was thinking what today to blog,then I read on Cricketinfo a writer writing about a book on 10 fav bowlers..ha,thats a good subject for today!!!!

Gary Bartlett,he will always be my fav bowler.Just seeing a NZ fast bowler,with a suspect action,scaring the South Africians and Pakistan,I will never forget.
Shane Warne,perhaps the greatest ever.Who will ever forget THE ball.Mr Gatting won’t.
Trueman,listening to the Ashes from Australia Fiery Fred made it all sound so real.What a huge heart.
Tyson,my love of tearaway fast bowlers.Maybe the fastest ever.
Alabaster,our great leg spin bowler.Oh to have him now!!!!
Ian Meckiff,ok maybe he threw but like Trueman listening to the Ashes on crackling old radios.What a legend.
Laker,19wkts in a test.In tandem with Locke,they were awesome.
Hall,so big,and so strong.Really was fast,and could bowl for long spells.
Lillee,the last two you just have to mention.Two of the all time greats.Yes and Hadlee.
These are not the greatest ever,in many cases,but just a selection I was bought up with and loved to follow,and will never forget.

Overall I think a good side,with several players out injured.I still do not agree with Oram being a automatic selection.What with his injuries,I believe he should have to prove himself again.
Watling is a great choice,he does have a big future all forms.
You read it here,,that N.McCullum should replace Patel in the One Day side.Patel is a Test bowler,and McCullum strengthens the batting.
Great to see Styrus back in favour.
So overall its about right,but 5 from Northern??

So Oram has retired from test cricket,and now he expects to be selected for the 1day and 20/20 teams.I can make good money he says.Ok but wearing the silver fern is not about money,its about wanting to play for your country.
So go get a real job!!!!
An overrated player,who could have been great but for injuries.
