My answers:
1. No idea! Australia had injuries too for the Champions Trophy but they have a bigger pool of talented players.
2. You’re talking bollocks. A: Khan wasn’t looked at, the media was in error. B: McCullum just had a shocker!
3. Yes, I think he is. Sad but true. He now has to be selected as a batsmen who bowls a bit and his batting isn’t currently good enough. Will have to score runs for CD.
4. No. Patel was without match practice and wasn’t playing until gameday. Tough on him.
5. Don’t know. Both have merit. Guptill can open but then again Vettori looks like a good no 7.
6. Due to Oram being No 1. That must now change. Franklin’s England stats are very good. He must be given a change to be No 1 allrounder.
7. Still need to think more about Test bowling lineup. Is Bond going to play Tests?
8. Yes he is. I don’t know if he’s that good but rankings change and he’s in great form now.
9. No, he doesn’t? He is the leader and best (only) man for the job. We must allow him to lead and if the test team doesn’t improve then we consider pushing for change. That’s how it works. As a captain you can never have too much power. Remember we have a coach, a manager, selectors and NZ Cricket so their are plenty of voices, opinions and decision makers to influence Daniel. Of course, worse would be if he didn’t have enough power and maybe that’s what happened to Fleming when Bracewell poked his awful nose into the captaincy of the team.
