Wow,what excitment to see Southland lift the Ranfurly Shield.In a tight,hard game they won 9-3.They played simple winning rugby.And we have Carters backup for the 2011 WC in Robinson.
This would rank as one of my sporting highlights in recent years.

Ive already commented on this,but it needs saying again.Why do we need Free to View coverage of rugby.$5 million from the Govt!!!If you don’t have Sky,get a couple of beers and go see your neighbour you may like them!!!!Or go go to the pub or RSA.Or dont smoke and drink,and you may afford Sky.Rest Homes mostly have Sky in their lounge.Other than that,well listen on the radio!!!!
$5million for about 100,000 people at the most,more likely 20,000.

I’m not sure what to say..no I’m not lost for words!!!!Its more the huge turnover of players I find hard to get used to.In my younger days it was so difficult to get a All Black jersey,and while I’m not saying the players haven’t tried hard to get in the All Blacks,it still worries me the amount of All Blacks we now produce.Players get tried at Test level,isn’t that what NPC and Super 14 is for??
Or is it just a case of me living in the past??
I won’t comment on selections because Henry had comments/reasons for everyone.
But I do feel sorry for Joe.They played him in all the tests,and now drop him.How come he was good enough then but not now??And they take a winger who has not played??
Why free to view??
Why should the Govt. be putting money into any channel for the rugby world cup??Its all live on sky.If people don’t have Sky,there are 100’s of places they go to watch it.I thought times were tough.
And why the rugby,and not the football at the Caketin if its going to be free to view with Govt. money??
Waikato win
Waikato beat North Harbour 33-22, leading14-3 at HT.
It was another scrappy game.With to many scrum resets.And is the skill level as good as they would have us believe??
But good on Waikato for scoring 4 tries.Once again Donald looks a very good player at this level,but??

This is very tricky,as money is the driving factor.Why should the NZ rugby union prop up teams,but then again for the good of rugby maybe they should.
They are saying 7 are struggling,well if 4 go will they help the other 3??What a mess!!!

Is rugby in big trouble north of the Bombay hills.NZ playing numbers are up,but North they are down.While football and league continue to grow.
Will it start to have a long term effect on NZ rugby???
