Wow the U17 team are thru to the 2nd round.This is just awesome news for NZ football and NZ sport.They drew with Turkey 1-1,a goal from Jack Hobson-McVeigh in the 90th minute.We now play Switzerland or Nigeria.Lets all hope that the All Whites will win,and go to South Africa.At last football will get the lift it deserves in this country,with it being the no1 sport for U15yrs.But some how Football NZ has to find a way to keep the school leavers playing at a high level.Some sort of National League with all games live on Sky,just has to be done.This way kids would keep playing,with the more exposure.Go the Phoenix tonight against Sydney!!!!
