SA made 119 off 36.5ov and Eng. 3/121. Good performances by Anderson 10-3-23-5 and Trott 52no. SA top order failing. Is there a weakness in batting, around the world, starting to appear?? Bowlers, except in Asia, seem to be dominating more than ever.
For Justin, Martin and Karen

A great day for NZ,a sad day for the WI
A great win for NZ. We bowled Pakistan out for 218, to win by 32 runs. Our bowlers stepped up,and set up the victory.Bond again breaking the vital partnership taking 21-5-46-3,with Martin 2/45, O’Brien 3/63, Vettori 2/51. Once Yousuf and the very promising Umar were gone, it looked all over. Just so good to have such a interesting test match. Ok some of the cricket was not great, but at least it was interesting. The Pakistan really let themselves down in the field, and one has to wonder why all the time.
Australia wrapped up th WI in 3 days. 228 and 187, to win easy. Hauritz doing very well with 6-3-17-3 and 14-1-40-2.Man of the match going to Hilfenhaus, why?? He takes match 5/70. Katich or Hauritz. Well done Barath. He made 104, at 100 he had 100 the rest 43!!!! A very good 100 in a team thrashed. As I stated in previous blogs, I can’t understand how Gayle is Capt. ahead of Ganga. Hes to much for me, and WILL never be a team leader.
wins and draws, and…..
A win to India.SL made 269, and India win their 100th test. H.Singh 3/98. Well done India, showing wins can be made on so called placid pitches. Conditions are never perfect anywhere, and thats what is so great about test cricket.
NZ are 8/147, and lead by 244. We need over 250, and lets hope the weather holds. And PLEASE both teams go for a win, don’t worry about a loss. But I have a feeling, a draw will be the result. Bond got his 5, 27.5-4-107-5.
Aust made 8/480 Dec. WI are 5/134. 3 days still left. What a shame Taylor broke down after 9 overs. A huge hill for WI to climb.
SA beat Eng by 112 runs in a 1Day. 6/354 de Villiers 121 Eng 242 Collingwood 86 Wayne Parnell 5/48. His 8th game,hes 20 and leftarm fast.
Wellington scored a good win over ND, the other two games draws. But 3 very interesting games.
My player day, Parnell.
Sir James..ooops Sir Shane
Wow its great he’s back.Awesome display of fast bowling.151k bouncer,153k fast ball. Its so exciting!!!But why Capt, not open with 4slips and 2 gulleys??He needs to watch video of Thompson,Hall,Tyson…attack when u have the pace. And the negetive bowling from Vettori. Why have under finger spin at 4/85??Over finger and attack!!!!
NZ 429 Pak 8/307. A great fight back by the Akmal bros. Umar 129, yes he is only 19, and Kamran 82. Bond has 24-4-93-4. I’m just disappionted in Vettoris negative captaincy, but this is his on going problem.
SL 229. Sreesanth 22-4-75-5. A great display on a quite dead wicket. Following on they are 4/57. 356 behind still. India in command with 2 days left.
Aust 5/322. A even days play. The WI fighting back well. I hope they bat well.
The Plunket Shield games are even and we could yet get 3 results. Its a shame they take a break, as would be good to keep going with so many players stepping up.
Ingram 135, his 10th 100. An other forgottan man.
My player day, just Bond ahead of Umar. He is a kiwi!!!! And well done Sreesanth.
Both tests at interesting stage
NZ 8/404 and India 642, with SL 1/66. So after two days, both are into the all important Day3.
NZ carried on with Vettori 99 and McCullum 78 putting on 164parts. I don’t want to dwell on it, but again we have 4 batsman getting good test scores, but why can’t they carry on?? Its just to the normal in NZ cricket.
But well down Vettori, and yet again proving he maybe can cope with all his “jobs”. I will never agree to his “power”, but if he can cope and proves he can do it, lets go with it.
Pakistan are already looking a team here for 3 draws. I was very dissappionted with their attitude yesterday. They seem to lose interest as the day went on. But its still a good contest. I would love to see NZ declare over night, and “have a go at them”. I would be a good positive move.
Dravid144 lifted the India score, but then they folded to Herath 33-2-121-5. The pitch is starting to turn, and today is very important to SL, they must pass the follow on.
Harry got there!!!105, his 13th 100. Wow hes a legend!!! Sam Wells getting 11-3-26-5 for Otago. His 2nd 5 this summer, and hes young and quite quick they say.
Ya!!! the 3rd test starts today. Aust v WI at the Gabba. I hope Sarwan is fit. Sad if hes not!!!!He and Gayle are the key. A new look Aussie team, so it could be interesting.
My man of the day Harry, sorry Vettori!!!!
A great days cricket and 100’s galore!!!!
The summer of cricket couldn’t have started better.A great days cricket, and it looks like a even test.
pakistan won the toss, and at 2/27 I thought “here we go again”, but we fought back well. At 6/267 its even. Its a shame Guptill 60 and Taylor 94, didn’t go on. This is a problem we have had for years. Batsman just don’t go on.
But the McCullum 25no and Vettori 40no partnership has put us into a chance of 350+, which I feel we will need.
Once again Pakistan have let themselves down in the field. They bowled well, but made to many errors fielding. Asif, 3/76, looks a very promising young bowler.
India won the toss and batted, scoring 2/417. Gambhir 167, Sehwag 131, leading the way. And with Dravid 85no, Tendulkar 20no, what will they score??
Two totally differant tests, but its awesome. Conditions, pitches, players are what makes tests. I have Never been bored by a test match. Go watch Womans Beach Volleyball if you don’t like it!!!!
But the man of the day has to be Southee 25-12-27-8. At last we have a good pool of pace bowlers giving the selectors talent to earn their money, and get selections right.
One must also not forget all the runs scored yesterday in the Plunket Shield. 100’s to Papps 107, Myburgh 120, Haig 150no, Broom 159no. And I must not get every ones fav cricketer Chris Harris. Yes he’s BACK!!!! 40 yrs old and 83no. Go Chris, get that 100!!!!
So thats it after Day 1… with all the cricket so interesting, we all hope it will be a GOLDEN summer.
Get it right Capt W.!!!!
Yaaa!!!Test cricket…stuff the rest!!!!
Oh dear Capt W. wants to play only 4 bowlers at Dunedin in Nov.”I’m worried about the batting,we need 6 batsman”.Well play Sinclair,Bell,Cumming and you would only need 5 batsman!!!!
I just can’t believe we are only playing 4 front line bowlers.
Still hopefully we win easy, and you can all see how wrong I was!!!!
Oh don’t you love it…3 test under way the same time soon!!!!
Vision is the same,so will be the radio, with TV on to see the wickets.Thats not so bad.
Hi guys
Good win to England,and another 100 by Collingwood.His 5th.So 1-0 after 2 games.
All Blacks 19-6 over England.A much better game, and two teams playing Rugby. We are looking more solid each game.
Well done Phoenix,1-0 over Jets.A good win away.Lets hope 20,000 at the Cake Tin!!!!

There has been so much sport, and I have really missed doing this.
But great the All Whites, one of our greatest days ever in sport.

What amess the Test v Italy, such a shame for rugby.
Ok the Mighty Aucks are struggling at cricket, but the NZ A has all our players!!!!
NZ A,its not A its a NZ 11.Shame, to not give NEW players a go at this level.
Ohh this lack of vision!!!!
