To me the hot spot wasn’t sure, so why didn’t he get the benefit of the doubt?? Pak. will have to get to the follow on, or they will struggle to survive.

Ok, quick comment on declare. I disagree. I have the benefit of hindsight two days later but at the time I thought to myself, why would you give Pakistan a greater chance of winning then they deserve. They could have batted to 550 even 600 and still had time to take 20 wickets. Now they may lose when they have dominated the first 3 days of the test. Of course they are still firm favourites but Pak have a chance they haven’t really earnt. Call me old fashioned but that’s how I see it
What, its not old fashion to declare and make a match!!!! They always used to…eg Benaud, Dexter, Sobers….
